Who I Am
This website address is: https://www.lisaspangenberg.com/it.
This is a personal site, which means I have absolute control over the content. The opinions I express on this site don’t reflect the opinions of my employer or of anyone else; they’re all mine. I reserve the right to change them.
I also reserve the right to change the contents of my site. I tend to make substantive revisions or changes clear in the text. I edit in an effort to make the text more readable and my argument easier to follow and to incorporate new information.
In an effort to protect my site from auto-generated comment spam, I close the comments on blog entries after about fourteen days. If you’d like to post a comment to an older (and now comments-disabled) entry, please use the contact form, and I’ll make commenting possible. Naturally, I reserve the right to remove comments at will, especially spam. I also reserve the right to disemvowel, edit, respond, mock rank idiocy, quote and use, with attribution, in articles, books, and presentations.
Guest Posts and Paid Posting
I do not have any interest in paid posts, paid content or paid links. Don’t ask me about guest posts or link spam or data sharing. The answer is no.
Get your own site and stop spamming me.
FCC Compliance Statement
The following statement is intended to provide the necessary data to comply with FTC directives.
There are reviews of books, software, hardware and accessories on this site. Most of the items I review on this site were purchased by me. Occasionally books or software or other items may be provided to me as review copies or as time-limited demo or beta software from publishers.
Any books or other products that were provided by a publisher, retailer or distributor for review purposes are identified as such in the reviews. Otherwise, the book or product was purchased by me or a family member, or borrowed from a library.
I am not and have not been paid to review any books, media, software or Web sites on this site. I indicate in a post or review if books or software or hardware were provided to me by a publisher or developer. My reviews represent my honest opinions, and only my opinions. I link to a number of publishers, book stores and developers. I am an affiliate of Amazon and Powell’s books and several other affiliate sites.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It
This site uses WordPress cookies. They are only required if you plan to comment. They do not collect or track PID (Personally Identifiable Data).
I do not collect any PID (Personally Identifiable data). When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Commenting requires an email address. I reserve the right to delete any comments at any time.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture from Gravatar is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Commenting on my site is tacit agreement to these policies. If you want me to delete your comments, use the Contact form to send me a request from the email account you used when you commented and I will delete your comments. I may also prohibit you from reading, commenting or otherwise using this site in the future if you strike me as an annoyance.
Like all Websites, this site automatically collects IPs, system information, and any URLs you used to arrive here or clicked on while here. These are stored in server logs.
I do not collect or store logs permanently. Logs are set to purge automatically, as are any Google Analytics data.
If you use the contact form to message me, I may keep the message with the associated IP and email address.
I do not use or collect email address for marketing or lists or any other purpose. I do not sell, trade or otherwise provide email addresses to third parties.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Posts and pages and content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
I do not knowingly collect or share data with any other site or service.
How long I Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information users provide in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).
Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
